rainbow-colored faucets that are actually affordable + garage/office/etc plans

Happy Saturday! A little behind the scenes from the MTD camp: I am moving forward with my pool project and getting estimates. I didn’t want to announce the winning tile just yet because I might change my mind depending on much the repairs will cost. Of course, I have my heart set on the MOST expensive tile but maybe I’ll come across a Home Depot tile I like half as much but for half the cost. We’ll see.

I also have these projects in the lineup: guest powder, guest bath, hallway, main bath and main bedroom spruce up. These projects are all just tune ups and not complete overhauls, but it’s worth it to stay tuned for the special touches I put on each project.

The biggest overhaul will be the garage! You can read more about the project and the reason WHY I didn’t choose it for #OneRoomChallenge here:

My First One Room Challenge And I Need Help!

More on the garage later… but first! I wanted to do a special post on something that always seems so elusive — both because of price and availability.

rainbow-colored faucets

Freunden von Freunden - Apartment Therapy

I bet you didn’t think you wanted something other than a chrome or black faucet before you saw the picture above. I know I didn’t. Multi-colored faucets are so next level and can take an very ordinary black and white bathroom or kitchen and turn it into something super unique and special. But sadly, much like cars, the more exotic and unique the color, the harder it is to find. Believe me, I wish cars just came in mint green and mustard yellow but c’est la vie.

Here are the most popular and EXPENSIVE brands that produce these unicorns:

Why is it the Europeans are ALWAYS having more fun with design than the rest of the world? I’m seriously asking you — let me know below. I find that Americans are so stringent with their aesthetics and here are Vola and Fantini, just throwing caution to the wind and creating these daring and cute and colorful faucets. I think that Americans companies are always looking at the bottom dollar and know that a red or pink faucet might not sell as well as a chrome or brass one, so they stick to their bottom line. I get it — it costs $$$ to create a new rendition of a popular model. I guess if one really wants a blue showerhead, one will pay.

But I have another option… I have magically found some cheaper alternatives that might strike your fancy. All thanks to the power of the algorithm. Thank you, Algorithm.

Okay so these faucets are not EXACTLY like the Vola or Fantini, but can I tell you why they might even be better?

  1. the color hose is not permanent! Yes you read that right. You can switch up the hose color whenever you like and choose between blue, pink, green, yellow, orange, purple, and red!

  2. more functionality. Unlike the Vola and Fantini models, this faucet can actually function LIKE A FAUCET. So beauty and function

  3. significantly cheaper option. Compared to the $1500 price tag for Vola and Fantini, these are much cheaper at $650. Sure it’s not a steal, but you don’t want a cheap faucet. They fall apart very quickly.

Sproos! - Urban Outfitters

Want something even more inexpensive and still as lively? I introduce you to Sproos! Sproos comes in at $269 for the most expensive option and comes in a variety of colors. And guess what?! It’s totally renter friendly! Yes, that means you can take off your current shower head and just pop this baby on without any sort of plumbing involved. At least I don’t think so…

The garage, oh dear

I swear to you, I’m not a hoarder.

My husband is. Really. That’s not my stuff, hand to heart.

Ok it actually is, but it’s both of ours. So I’m revamping it to make a space that functions as storage, a client meeting room AND a film studio! Here is what I have so far…

This rendering sucks — Spoak doesn’t really offer a lot of garage remodel options, so I’m going off my gut on this one. But in a nutshell, here’s what’s happening:

Oh yeah, and getting rid of half my stuff! I will be giving first dibs to my subscribers (that’s you!) in the next few weeks. I haven’t decided what I’m going to get rid of and what I’m going to keep, so you’ll have to stay tuned to find out!

That’s all for now! As always, I am so excited that you’re here and I get to share my world with you. This is my favorite thing to do in life and it’s so nice to have a community that is excited about the same things I am!!
